A Simple Recipe Packed With Flavor

This brown sugar pork chop recipe is excellent for those of you who don't prefer to cook recipes that require ten or more ingredients. They too are full of delicious flavors. Depending on how long you cook your pork chops in the oven the brown sugar will caramelize and even form a crispy crust if you broil them in your oven for two-four minutes.

Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Ingredients

1/3 C brown sugar
2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp black pepper
4 boneless or bone-in pork chops

Directions

Preheat oven to 350F. Lay a sheet of foil or parchment paper onto a baking dish and grease it with cooking spray.

1. Combine in a small mixing bowl the brown sugar, salt, and pepper.
Rub the brown sugar mixture on all sides of each pork chop. Place your pork chops on the foil or parchment lined baking sheet. Bake them for thirty-five minutes to an hour or until internal temperature reaches at least 150 degrees.

Forget the cake and eat carrots

Why have a cookie for dessert when you can eat this mustard glazed carrots as a healthier choice. Lol, I’m joking I love cookies and other sweets too! 🙂 But, honestly and seriously for those of you who are like me and attempting to eat healthier, you can think of this recipe as having dinner for dessert lol. As it’s not only delicious, but it too has an excellent sweet taste. Thanks to the brown sugar lol.

This Mustard Glazed Carrots would also make a fantastic side dish for your Thanksgiving dinner.
Mustard Glazed Carrots

Ingredients

2 lbs Carrots, rinsed, peeled and cut into 1/4 inch slanting slices

1/2 C water

3 Tbsp butter

3 Tbsp Dijon Mustard

2 Tbsp brown sugar

parsley, chopped
Directions

Combine carrots and water in a three-quart pot. Bring to a boil over high heat. Cover, reduce heat to medium and cook until crisp-tender. (about ten minutes) Drain. Combine the butter, mustard, and sugar. Cook, constantly stirring, until the carrots is covered approximately one to two minutes. Garnish with parsley.

Baked Pork Chops and Apples with Brown Sugar Glaze

Last night I was planning on blogging, but I chose not to because my brain went totally blank. So I decided to write this morning after my walk as I love walking in the mornings for exercise. It’s very relaxing, fun and it helps me to brainstorm with what I want to say for new blog posts. Today I walked two miles, and it took me about an hour. I felt so good afterward lol. 

Now onto the cooking section

I am an enormous fan of sauces/glazes. Whenever I find a recipe that includes a sauce I instantly know that I have to prepare the dish. This Baked pork chops and apple recipe is no different because it to includes a flavorful glaze.

Baked Pork Chops and Apples with Brown Sugar Glaze

Ingredients

Two apples, peeled and sliced
Four boneless pork chops
salt and pepper
4 Tbsp butter
4 Tbsp brown sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg or ginger

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 350°. Cover a baking sheet with foil and spray it with non-stick cooking spray.

Layer apples in the bottom of the previously prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Trim fat from pork chops. Layer on top of apple slices. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. In a small pot over medium heat, melt butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, stirring continually. Pour sauce over the pork chops and apples. Bake uncovered for thirty-five – forty minutes.
